 About the Course

Tanjore Painting, a regal art form from South India, is best known for its opulent portrayal of deities, lavish gold leaf work, and embellishment with semi-precious stones. This classical form of Indian painting brings together intricate detailing, vibrant colors, and a rich heritage that reflects devotion and artistry.

This 3-month certificate course is designed for learners who are passionate about traditional Indian art and wish to master the graceful techniques of Tanjore painting. Students will learn everything—from preparing the board and muck to stone pasting, cone work, gold layering, and the final intricate painting. The course also includes a segment on painting figurative and devotional themes on marble surfaces, combining age-old tradition with modern presentation.
